🌍 APPLICATION GUIDE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMS (SECOND CYCLE)

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO ENROL IN ONE OF OUR MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES

📌 Step-by-Step Procedure

✅MANDATORY PRE-ASSESSMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: by 5 July 2026

To access a Master’s Degree Programme (LM), a mandatory pre-assessment of qualifications is required.
The procedure to request it varies depending on the chosen Master’s programme.

Relevant programs: Master’s programmes in Tourism and Sustainability Management, Managerial Economics, Data Science, Public Administration Sciences, Social Innovation and Communication, Law of Sustainable Development and Innovation)

Documents to be attached

(to DreamApply or to the online form + email)

You must attach the following documents:

  • Original final secondary school qualification, obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, accompanied by an official translation and legalization/apostille, or alternatively by a Statement of Verification of Authenticity issued by the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA).
  • Declaration of Value of the final secondary school diploma, or alternatively a Statement of Comparability issued by the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA).
  • Original first-cycle (Bachelor’s) degree (EQF level 6), accompanied by an official translation and legalization/apostille, or alternatively by a Statement of Verification of Authenticity issued by the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA), as well as a Declaration of Value of the first-cycle degree or, alternatively, a Statement of Comparability issued by the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA). (If not yet available, it may be submitted at a later stage.)
  • Transcript of Records or Diploma Supplement (in Italian or English);
  • For programmes entirely taught in English: language certificate of at least B2 level (CEFR);
  • Italian language certificate at B2 level for programmes taught (even partially) in Italian.
    If you do not have it, you will be required to take a language test;
  • Identity document (ID card or passport).

📌 Each attached file must be named according to its content
(e.g. TOR, English Certificate B2).

 

The required documents are used to verify degree eligibility, the fulfillment of curricular requirements, and the assessment of the applicant’s academic preparation.

→ For the Master’s degree programmes in International Relations (LM), Public Administration Sciences, Social Innovation and Communication, International Management, Managerial Economics, and Data Science, the verification of degree eligibility, the fulfillment of curricular requirements, and the assessment of the applicant’s academic preparation are carried out simultaneously on the basis of the submitted documentation. The outcome is communicated to the candidate via Dream Apply or email.

→ For the Master’s degree programme in Economics, Finance and Data Analysis, the verification of degree eligibility and the fulfillment of curricular requirements are carried out simultaneously on the basis of documentation. If the degree is deemed eligible and the curricular requirements are met, the assessment of the applicant’s academic preparation takes place through an online interview held on a date prior to the evaluation sessions scheduled for Italian candidates.

→ For the Master’s degree programme in Tourism and Sustainability Management, the verification of degree eligibility and the fulfillment of curricular requirements are carried out simultaneously on the basis of documentation. If the degree is deemed eligible and the curricular requirements are met, the assessment of the applicant’s academic preparation is conducted through an interview held on the same day scheduled for the test for Italian candidates.

Deadline

The mandatory pre-assessment application (via DreamApply or online form + email) must be submitted by 5 July 2026.

Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.

2. PRE-ENROLMENT ON UNIVERSITALY by 31 August 2026

If your pre-assessment outcome is positive, complete your pre-enrolment on Universitaly by 31 August 2026.

NB:
The documents to be uploaded on Universitaly must be the same as those submitted for the pre-assessment.
Only if the programme is not entirely taught in English must you also upload the Italian language certificate at B2 level.
If you do not have it, you will be required to take a language test.

Applications submitted on Universitaly will not be considered if they are:

  • submitted for the wrong academic year;
  • not preceded by a positive pre-assessment;
  • submitted after 31 August 2026.

3. VERIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS BY THE UNIVERSITY

After pre-enrolment, the University will verify:

  • completion of at least 12 years of schooling;
  • Italian language proficiency at B2 level (only if the programme is not entirely taught in English);
  • the outcome of the pre-assessment of access requirements;
  • submission of CIMEA Statements (comparability and authenticity) or the Declaration of Value for the first-cycle degree.
  • If all requirements are met → pre-enrolment validated without reservation
    (green light on Universitaly);
  • If requirements are not fully metpre-enrolment validated with reservation
    (orange light on Universitaly), which will be lifted only after you regularise your position.

4. STUDY VISA APPLICATION

You may apply for a study visa at the Embassy only if your Universitaly pre-enrolment has been validated without reservation (green light).

5. ENROLMENT AND DOCUMENT SUBMISSION – APPOINTMENT AT THE STUDENT OFFICE

For enrolment in the chosen programme, the following conditions must be met:

  • the qualification must be recognised as valid;
  • all access requirements must be satisfied;
  • submission of the Declaration of Value or, alternatively, CIMEA Statements (comparability and authenticity);
  • for programmes taught even partially in Italian, passing the Italian language test at B2 level;
  • issuance of the entry visa and residence permit.

Once all requirements are met, the Student Office will proceed with enrolment.

You will be officially enrolled after your arrival in Cagliari.
You must go to the Student Office to submit all original documents.

Appointments are usually scheduled once a week (Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), unless otherwise agreed.
