REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
The documents listed below must be uploaded separately (one at a time) in the pre-enrolment application to be submitted on the Universitaly portal (https://www.universitaly.it):
- Identity Document: Valid passport
- Passport-size photograph
- Upper Secondary School Diploma: It must have been obtained after at least 12 years of schooling and must grant access to first-level university programmes in the country where the qualification was issued.
- Certificate of passing the academic aptitude test (only if such a test is required for university entrance in the country of origin);
Additional requirements for the Diploma:
- Original upper secondary school diploma and official sworn translation (Italian or English).
- Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by the competent Italian Diplomatic Representation, with legalization/Apostille on both the original document and the translation. Check the competent authorities responsible for issuing the Apostille.
- As an alternative to the Declaration of Value (DoV): Statement of Comparability and Statement of Verification issued by CIMEA.
WARNING: Any CIMEA Statements of Correspondence downloaded from the ARDI database will not be taken into consideration.
Note for programmes taught in English: If the qualification was originally issued in English, a sworn translation into Italian is not required.

Mandatory language requirements:
- Knowledge of the Italian language: Non-EU citizens residing abroad who enrol in programmes taught in Italian must provide a certificate proving knowledge of Italian at least at B2 level, issued by CLIQ institutions.
- Knowledge of the English language (for programmes taught in English): Non-EU citizens residing abroad who enrol in programmes taught in English (e.g. Medicine and Surgery) must provide a certificate proving knowledge of English at least at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Compensation years
If the diploma was obtained after fewer than 12 years of schooling, the following must be provided:
- 11-year system: Academic certificate proving that all examinations of the first year of university have been passed.
- 10-year system: Academic certificate proving that all examinations of the first two years of university have been passed.
- Alternative options: A post-secondary qualification (1 or 2 years) in a related field, or a Foundation Year certificate (which compensates for only 1 missing year) issued by a foreign or Italian university. Foundation Year certificates will only be accepted if issued by institutions accredited by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) or the relevant Ministry of Education. If the teaching institution differs from the awarding institution, both must be accredited.
Note: These certifications are intended solely to meet the required 12 years of schooling and cannot be used for course shortening (credit recognition). All documents relating to compensation years issued by foreign institutions must be submitted in original form and accompanied by sworn translation and legalization/Apostille. Check the competent authorities responsible for issuing the Apostille.
IMPORTANT NOTES
All qualifications (original documents and translations) must be legalized or apostilled.
Check the competent authorities responsible for issuing the Apostille.

Right of verification:
The Student Secretariat reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all documents and to request additional documentation in accordance with the policies of the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR).
Details regarding the Declaration of Value (DoV):
- It must be issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representation in the country governing the relevant educational system.
- All qualifications (original documents and translations) must be legalized or apostilled. Check the competent authorities responsible for issuing the Apostille.
- A separate DoV is required for each qualification (e.g. Diploma and compensation years), unless they were obtained within the same educational system/country.
